Joni was born and raised in the beautiful city of San Francisco, California. Her roots in the San Francisco Bay Area go back to the wild days of the Barbery Coast. Born to a family of commerical fisherman and entrepreneurs, she was offered a rich and diverse upbringing where she was given the opportunity to express her creativity at a very early age.

 

She futhered her studies in the arts at San Francisco University where she graduated in 1982 with a B.A. degree.

Her studies included conceptual design, painting and drawing, printmaking, interior design and art history.

 

Shortly after graduation, the artist pursued a career as a printmaker working with handmade papers.

 

She has won numerous awards and has been recognized as a humanitarian for her efforts and support of children's art programs.

 

She presently lives in Sonoma, CA
